Terry Real

Founder, The Relational Life Institute

Terry Real is the bestselling author of I Don’t Want to Talk About It: Overcoming the Secret Legacy of Male Depression, How Can I Get Through to You?: Reconnecting Men and Women, and most recently The New Rules of Marriage: a Breakthrough Program for 21st Century Relationships.  He has been a practicing family therapist for more than twenty-five years and has lectured and given workshops across the country. In March 2002, Real founded the Relational Life Institute. His work has been featured on NBC Nightly News, Today, Good Morning America, and Oprah, as well as in The NewYork Times, Psychology Today, Esquire, and numerous academic publications.

Lisa Sullivan

Operations Director, The Relational Life Institute

Lisa Sullivan has been RLI’s Operations Director since 2007 and served as Client Manager and Assistant to Terry Real since 2002. Ms. Sullivan manages all Workshops and Trainings nationally, as well as Terry’s speaking engagements and private practice.  A graduate of Middlebury College, Lisa was the Owner and President of Prospect Technology Group and was solely responsible for publishing its daily online sales lead service. In 2000, Lisa sold the company to TrueAdvantage in Westborugh, MA and stayed on as a consultant in the Web Content division, before eventually changing gears to work with Terry Real in 2002.

Belinda Berman-Real

Trauma Intensive Instructor, Private Practice

Belinda Berman-Real, MA, MFT, CSAT has been seeing individuals, couples, and families for over twenty-five years. She has trained therapists through the Family Institute of Cambridge, and, more recently, The Relational Life Institute, founded by her husband, Terry Real.  She first trained in trauma recovery with Pia Mellody in 1991 and has been extensively mentored by Pia. For almost ten years, she and Pia co-led trauma workshops several times annually in Boston, MA.  She has also trained with Patrick Carnes and continued that training to become a certified sex addiction expert. She is currently training in Internal Family Systems work and is a fully trained Relational Life Therapist.

Kim Ploussard

Co-Director of Relational Life Mastery and Coaching, RLI Master Certified Coach, Private Practice

Kim Ploussard is a licensed, mental health counselor with a private practice in New York State. She has a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and is a Master Certified RLI therapist and coach.  Ms. Ploussard is the Co-Director of the Relational Life Mastery and Coaching program.   She has trained with Terry Real and the Relational Life Institute since its inception in 2003. In 2008 she became a RLI faculty member and has been coaching practitioners in the RLT model ever since. Ms. Ploussard has over twenty years experience counseling a diverse population and eighty per cent of her Albany-based private practice is with couples. In addition to her RLT expertise, Ms. Ploussard has completed Pia Mellody’s trauma intensive workshop trainings and offers Healing Our Core Issues intensive workshops and groups to clients seeking to go deeper in the trauma healing component of RLT.   The former clinical director of an outpatient counseling center, Ms. Ploussard has been training and coaching clinicians in a variety of disciplines for 15 years. She is also a guest-lecturer at University at Albany on relationship skills, and has a sub-specialty in sex therapy through training with Barry McCarthy and David Schnarch.  Please contact for more info about RLT coaching.

Amy Warren

Co-Director of Relational Life Mastery and Coaching, RLI Master Certified Coach, Private Practice

Amy Warren is a Master Certified Relational Life Therapist. A Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, Ms. Warren maintains a private practice in Sarasota, Florida where she has counseled individuals and couples since 1994. Having trained with Terry Real and the Relational Life Institute since its inception in 2003, Ms. Warren began coaching RLT therapists in training in 2006 and joined the Relational Life Institute faculty in 2008.  As Co-Director of The Relational Life Mastery and Coaching program, Ms. Warren continues to coach therapists towards mastery of the RLT model. Additionally, Ms. Warren is fully trained by Pia Mellody in her model of trauma recovery, Post-Induction Therapy, and offers Family of Origin intensives in her private practice to treat the origins of adult issues. Dee Marcotte

RLI Certified Coach, Master RLI Therapist, Private Practice

Dee Marcotte is a Master Certified coach in the Relational Life Mastery and Coaching program.  Ms. Marcotte is known for giving people specific and practical tools to help change their lives. Besides counseling people with “everyday” problems, Ms. Marcotte specializes in counseling individuals and couples. She also counsels those with backgrounds which include trauma, domestic violence and physical/sexual abuse. Ms. Marcotte has been a student and teacher of the Enneagram for over 20 years. Additionally, she is a student and teacher of the Relational Life Model by Terrence Real, relationship expert in working with couples and families. Ms. Marcotte has been a RLI Coach since 2006. Lastly, she is a CSAT (3) who works with individuals and couples dealing with sexual addiction.
